                  Hi guys,

Thanks for the validation! Another question: This one has the large font an four indents around that catch plate, according to Durante's book it's a AGMuK type 1.1.1, which should have a blue backplate. This one is black, any ideas why this is the case? I'm certain it's not a replacement. Maybe another variation? Thanks again for all the help in advance!

                    Hi Nathan,

Very nice original, as the others have said, textbook AGMuK in excellent condition.

The backplate is certainly not a replacement, Large-Font AGMuK clasps typically have a black backplate like yours. However, they also used a blued backplate as well, but they are quite a bit rarer than the black plate examples.

Great clasp, much better than the one you showed me at the show. Nice score.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
