Here is the 2nd 5 stemmed i got this far, the IAB is beleaved to be a well worn bronze one that turned almost black on the reverse. This don´t have the netpattern either on the gunsight.Regards

Hi Hans
These pictures are so cool...big and clear . Did you find the feature of first IAB is very sharp, but others are not so sharp even with their finishing. The edges of wing are good examples. You can find the last three IABs are not as good as first one. What do you think, Hans?
best regards

Hi Indy,
i see what you mean. I´d say the pic 1 and 2 is close to each other when it comes to the features and so are pic 3 and 4. I never thought of it like that but i have to say i am a bit puzzled by these SH.u.Co variants.
Why the 2 different types? Which one is the first type that got issued?
I also noticed on my 4 ones that the foot of the hinges differs between the 2 types, the 5 stemmed ones have a mutch wider base than those with the 4 stemmed right leaf!
I am still on the hunt for the 3rd variation of this maker though, so it might solve my questions when i get me a crimped-hinge one.Regards

Hi Hans
Here is my marked SHuCo IAB. Don't you think it is as sharp as your first one?
I just find there is a line...(I use red circle to point out). I never notice that, and I don't think the faker can make this detailed line. I check your first IAB,and there is a tiny line, too. What do you think Hans?
best regards

Hi Indy,
i beleave that your is a 4 stemmed version and that SH.u.Co used 2 different molds, obviously the 4 and 5 stemmed versions.
I have a theory but first i need a Crimped in hinge and a hollow version to verify it. From what i have seen the crimped in-hinge version is also a 4 stemmed variant and it to has the wide based hinge foot, it´s been regarded as the early SH.u.Co but i am not so shure about that. There also excists hollow and semi-hollow SH.u.Co badges they also seem to be 5 stemmed in the top right leaf.Regards

The eyepart has escaped my attention, i´m afraid. But the eventuall differences on those could also be explained by different molds.
There other things that bothers me among the SH.u.Co badges. What are the wierd lines on the reverse side of the rifle that runs in a uneven line from the barrel down to the riflebutt, some have them others don´t? Some unmarked ones got what could be explained as a "dieflaw" on the riflebutt some don´t and what about the catches that opens left or right?
These are some of the things that puzzels me also!
What do you think Indy?Regards

Hi Hans
That line is similar to dieflow...becasue of the not uniformed solidification, or the outer part of model got cool down quickly...so that line is kind of casting defect.
I checked many marked ShuCo IAB, and I found the catchs were opend left side(when you look at its reverse). I agree with you that makes people confused....but when I see SHuCo IAB, I feel this IAB is so cute, don't you?
best regards
Indy
