      Hi Gary,

No problems with that one at all, very nice original Assmann GAB as Stewy says. Hardware looks textbook and unmessed with.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Guys. That's great to hear. Thanks very much for your help. There seems to be a little bit of flattening on the badge on the acorn at the bottom left, like it's been scuffed but as long as it's original that's ok.
        Best regards
        Gary

Hi Gary, most likely a die flaw. The die was getting near the end of it's life. Stewy

Ok. That makes sense. Cheers Stewy.

Or possibly a dirty die, the rest of the details don't look overly worn. If that makes sense. Stewy

                I agree, looks good.

Never seen the zink so dark before. Have you given it some vaseline?
                Kind regards,

Hi. No haven't put anything on it. Badge has just arrived and was like it is in photos. This is my first qualification badge so haven't got any others to compare to yet.
                  Thanks

That is a very nice original Assman GAB. The finish on this type was classically dark, but the general condition of your badge and the degree to which the finish is intact is striking and quite unusual. I almost wonder if your badge might have been refinished. That or it's just an unworn and very well kept example.
