    PAB in bronze S&L

    Hi guys,
just would like to check this badge with you before putting on E-stand.
Also, what's your opinion on catch, just sloppy job or repaired?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrei

Hi Andrei, it looks just fine IMO. Just a sloppy job, most likely a Friday afternoon . The finish seems to be intact, if it were a repair you would see scorch marks around the whole area. Stewy

The hinge and catch was originally automatically crimped in vertically on this particular S&L design, but over time the die/tool became unservicable and was factory repaired with a blob of solder before being given it's finish. The failure of this poor securing method probably lead to next version which was a horizontal crimped set up.

            Regards, Ned.

              Hi Andrei,

Looks like a fine S&L to me as well. Wartime compatible.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Nice original S&L. You can just see how fragile this bronze finish is, making it no wonder most of these are encountered more grey.
                Kind regards,
                Giel
