                  Hi Nathan,

Firstly, welcome to the WAF forum, you found the right place if you are interested in Combat and Qualifications badges of the 3rd Reich.

All 3 of your CCCs look like very nice originals. The two AGMuK clasps look textbook and both are in great condition, as is typical with this maker's clasps.

The JFS also looks like a fine original, but I would like to see some better closeups of just that clasp, in particular to see the finish as it doesn't really look gold on my screen. More importantly, the pin on this clasp is not the typical pin we find on JFS clasps; the base of it near the hinge is a good bit thinner (here is one of mine for comparison). I would like to see some closeups of it to see if there is any sign of it being replaced, there is a good nick on the catch which could indicate its been messed with as well.

All in all, a nice set of clasps.

                  Tom

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Silver and bronze look OK, but the golden one looks strange. Could be the pictures. As Tom says, better pictures needed!

                      Nathan,
Try taking some shots outside and without flash or without bright light shining directly on the badge. It makes it hard to tell the true colors in the current photos. I definitely like the two AGMuKs, especially the silver with blue plate, but I'm not too keen about the finish on the JFS being gold. I suspect it's either been polished or it's bronze and the reflected light from your photos make it brighter than it really is. As Tom says, macro closeups of the pin, hinge and hook will be a big help to determine whether or not the reverse hardware has been replaced.

Either way, you have some nice clasps and you should be especially proud of the silver blue plate. I've been looking for one for quite awhile now - they're not easy to find and go quickly when they come up for sale.

Here are pictures of the bronze and gold ones next to each other out of the light in the one picture and in the light in another for comparison.

                              Hi Guys,

Thanks for the opinions on these pieces! I got the best pictures I could from my dad, if these don't suit your needs for close ups, I get some better ones when I get home this weekend (I'm 18 year old college student).....I'm a bit better than him with the camera.

kraut72 - yes, it appears to be gold.

Thomas Durante - Thanks for looking at these! I've been buying these based on your book. Last year at the SOS, when I got my book out to compare a clasp to the one in the book, someone walking by offered me $300 for the book, I kindly refused. Yes I see the differences to which you are referring, see if the images below help, but it does not appear to me as being replaced, but then again I'm not an expert.

                              Ludwig - Thanks for looking!

Dale - Thanks for looking and for the picture taking tips, I'll make sure to apply them when I get home. I appreciate the complement and yes, the silver was purchased within the first few hours of the SOS two years ago. The gold was not polished, if you look on the back of the clasp below the catch, you can see where the overwashed the clasp and some of the gold ended up on the rear.
