    L/21 Heer Flak Badge

    Hi guys,

I bought this one yesterday at a small military show. It's missing the catch, but otherwise a really nice badge. It was a super bargain too. Looking at the reverse, you can tell exactly where the catch once was. From the visible slotted area and the solder buildup around it you can tell that this badge had a thinner sheet metal catch, rather than the thicker type catch usually associated with marked L/21 Heer Flaks.

    Best regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom

Congrats on landing this nice piece. Even without the catch, a very uncommon army flak!!
    Kind regards,
    Giel

      Hi Tom,

Very nice addition, even with the missing catch is a great score due to its rarity.

      Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks for the comments, Giel and Tom.

But what do you mean missing catch?

I had fun making a replacement catch for the badge. I think it looks pretty good and at least the badge is completely functional once more.

        Best regards,
        Tom

Very nice job! You definitely inherited the Czech craftsmanship that I saw when I lived there.

                      Nice repair Tom

If you get a moment (and I know you love to show your camera skills) can you please post a close up of the maker mark for reference

                      cheers

                        Hi Graeme,

I'm afraid my camera skills don't go much beyond point and shoot. I tried to get a decent picture of the marking but it is a real challenge for me. Here are a few attempts. The results are not that good. It is very difficult to make out the slash but it is there.

                        Best regards,
                        Tom
