look at the details on the leafs and acorns, when Ron posted his example i was thinking acorns was just smashed a little, but when Mitch posted his example it was very obvious same exact flow, here i am posting exact same area but on original badge, compare details and you will see how different and soft reproduction appears, entire wreath is very soft on those repros.

          Best regards,
I think it has more to do with us realizing that there are REALLY good fakes out there these days and not to judge quickly without seeing good closeups of the hardware, rivets and other minor details. The faker can make good overall fakes, but they have a hard time with the finer details.

I do not know whether this thread is still being followed.
While searching for information on the [50] Assault Badge for which I have. I noticed in another thread a "Senior" member showing off his collection of assault badges. Among them was a badge just like RonR's and M.A.Miller's badges. I dare not tell him ! It seems to have the same flaws, i.e. Acorns at 9 o'clock lacking detail! Are we sure there is not just a fault in the die used. Being a junior member to this forum and my experience also limited, maybe someone else could re-start this thread.

It seems to be a well made fake. Putting links to the updated conversation is only beneficial.

Well done, and I agree Tony, it would be good to link this good discussion thread to any other thread that has these fake badges in them. Freddy, if you can remember the thread you were looking at, please post it here (or post this discussion thread into that thread). Either way, it will pop that old thread back to the top and we can all see the badge in question to determine if it is exactly the same type of fake as Ron's.

Look at this one. I may have it wrong.

                    Hi Freddy,

Thanks for the link. Mike's badge is indeed a fake as far as I can tell from those poor pictures.
