Nice badge Ron !! I was wondering if you guys could help me with one I have had for awhile. It looks like yours Ron but not much finish left. I noticed the same die flaw as yours to the back. The 2 hash marks by the upper left rivet. That is why I wanted to compare mine to yours here. It is easier to compare , then being in a new thread. My problem is I can't see the difference between mine and the RK one in the fake badge thread. What do guys think of the one I'm posting ?? Sorry, didn't mean to highjack your thread Ron.
Regard, Mitch
Ron, can you post some pics your catch and hinge with the pin open? Same with you Mitch.
At first glance both badges seem a little weak in detail, and the rivets too don't really remind me of original by RK. Finish also seems a bit odd, so I think some more detail shots of the hardware and maybe some dimensions would help us here.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Ron's and Mitch badges are not textbook, material and details are also wrong, just compared with my original and also with the examples in Frank's GAB book and known originals are different.
I see what you're thinking Tom. Both have the same flaws on the reverse, better pics would help. I like the hardware more on the first one posted, than I do the second. First one looked ok to me. Stewy
Not me Eddie, thanks to Mitch for posting his similar badge with similar flaws.
I think we are looking at two very well made fakes unfortunately.
Eddie's on the other hand is a gorgeous textbook original. Thanks for posting this one Eddie, I think if we compared to the Ron and Mitch's we can see several differences in quality and finish.

Well, it fooled me too! Now that I look at it closer, the pin is the biggest giveaway for me. I have to quit making calls without looking at my original samples first; I'm getting too old to keep it all clear in my old noggin.

Dale, you're not the only one. Until it was highlighted by Mitch, I thought it looked okay. Just late war. But now I can see the faults. Quite a dangerous fake IMO. Stewy
