I am not sure what this is. It appears to have always had a silver finish. And the bottom ribbon is not formed into a bow like a typical honor roll clasp. Any ideas on what it is??

Hi Harry,
It looks pretty low quality IMO. Ofcourse, an argument could be made its a late war example made from zink and that all the gold finish has faded over time, however the lack of quality and crude reverse hardware setup reveal this one to be a postwar fake IMO.
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

To answer a few questions:
PaulR, you asked what else came with the grouping. Here is a partial list and I have a photo that shows all of the items including this clasp as they came from the vet.
PPK pistol, army helmet, army dagger, SA dagger, K98 bayonet, about 4 party armbands, a Lutschutze NSDAP armband, several badges, EK2's, 1 EK1, 1 belt buckle and a myriad of other items.
They came from the son of a US vet.
Paul, you also asked if it had been worn, I'm not sure I can answer that. It has a small hole in the ribbon and I have seen honor roll clasp ribbons with small holes sewn into them.HC
