    100 general assault badge

I just wanted to share with the forum a 100 General Assault badge that came into the Tulsa show this past weekend from a vet's grandson. The vet was George C. Wallace from Arlington, Texas. There were several items along with the badge including his dog tag. I'd like to post scans of the front and back but I'm not permitted to. Sorry........ You can see them on my web site relicsofthereichs.com under the medals folder.

    God bless......... Mike

    Hi Mike,

I am moving your post to the Heer and Waffen SS War and Qualification Badge forum as it will get more responses in the proper forum. I will also post your images so that they can be viewed by all.

    Best regards,
    Tom

Mike, any chance for some better closeups of your badge? Its too far away to really be able to see much of anything on it.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

The hardware, reverse profile and obverse finish on the eagle are not giving me any warm fuzzies. The main pin is definitely wrong imo. Maybe better pics tell a different story.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Ron posted what is a one looker original, the photos shown for review make any assessment tricky at best if not impossible, as already mentioned there are serious issues with this one. I've actually owned a JFS GAB 75 and know what to look for on these. So far it does not look good for the one posted for review.
                Any chance of better pics?

IMO not a chance of being a wartime produced original!

                        Mike:

Your photos offered here show that this badge has been made
with a "brass" wreath. This should not be on an original....They
                        were produced from "zinc"!

The photos also show that there is an 'indent' in the back of the
eagle. This should not be as well....The original has a FLAT back
                        in that area.

The wide vertical pin is also not the correct pin as what is found
on the original ones....There is too much "play" on the axle where
the pin is housed between the sides.

There's more but this should be enough!

                        Ron.
