Wouldn't you rather wear one like this in '57 rather than the stay-brite badges??

Yeah, it's a damn shame. Since I don't know the history behind this badge (who de-nazified it, etc), I'd like to believe it was done by the receipient so he could wear it on his '57 uniform.
;-)
Personally I can't look at the '57 Luftwaffe badges, they give me a worse feeling! Insulting to the wearer.

Tim,
Is this the Juncker badge were the swas came off after bending it 31 times..?
Tough material, not, after all those years ?
Well,it looks............different.., I like it..
One of mine seemed a little tougher.., 58 times !
I'll try another one and hope to do less than 31 this time..
Thanks for pointing me out ..,it's great fun !!
Concerning the '57 pieces..
I'd rather have this detailed and great looking Juncker without swas than the '57 pattern on my jacket..
I think it's hard to compare those 2 worlds actually..
The '57 combat shields, for example, are only half of what originals are.
I can understand removing the swas ,but I can't understand removing the eagle..,the eagle is still symbol in Germany.
( with all respect ) many of the badges have that plastic look ,I think they could've done better for their vets..
This is just because I do like their WW2 detailed work etc..

BTW,I think it would be great when someone removes the piece of swastika that's left on Tim's badge..
2 sharp nailed claws just hanging in the air..
Then.., having a swas made which is attached to the claws with little chains..
Or....the eagle clutching a U-Boot,a bomb or a little Stuka...
Whatever..,it's still a stunning badge IMO..
