A Silent Quartet of Minty PAB

    Hi All,

For those unable to attend the '15 Max Show, like me , here is a little Saturday treat!

I have been fortunate to gather these examples to build a foundation in my PAB collection.

A few interesting facts about this quartet:

    1) Each is from a different maker. Can you guess without a reverse image?
    2) Four different styles of Eagle's head. Which is your favorite?
    3) All three reverse types included, hollow, flat, and semi-dished.
    4) Different amounts of surface detail in the ground area beneath the tank.

    Oh yeah, Tanks for looking!

    Best,

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff

Super badges, I know their faces but can't remember their names without looking them up

The bronze PAB is my favourite!

I'll change Hobacher for Rettenmeier then...... Reading it again, you did mention "flatback".

              Hi Jeff,

All 4 very nice originals in great condition. Aurich is my favorite of the 4, one of the best eagle designs of any PAB.

                Hi Tom,

                Thank you for the comments!

I think I like the Wiedmann Eagle best as it almost seems to be wearing a "suit of armor". This eagle is definitely a little on the "portly" side. The PAB with nice ground detail like the other three really stand out as well.

Any idea why the area between the eagle wings and legs has the interesting pattern on the Daisy PAB?

If you are home, head for the high ground! Just an amazing amount of rain in your state!

                Best,

                    Hi Jeff,

Not sure why the Daisy PAB has the stippled pattern between the eagle wings and legs, but its a nice touch and probably just added for some artistic flair by the die cutter. There are a few other maker PABs and IABs with similar patterns, so I think it was just some artistic license taken by the individual die makers.

House was high and dry thankfully in this "thousand-year" storm.

All choice badges in top condition

For detailed grass patterns the Wurster is nice but the Aurich is the best imo

                          regards
