    Denaz Iab or...?

    Hello,

found this one for sale on the net with the description "Post war verision without swastika". Does the seller mean denazified or 1957 verision? Im not sure because I cant find information on which awards were reissued without swastikas and Im not a ww2 collector. Although it looks like a denazified to me as it has more patina than one could expect on a 1957 award. Opinions?

Click the picture, and You'll get a better view of it.

    EDIT: I got it, 15 $

    Regards
    Henrik

Hi Henrik, the badge is a WW2 badge that has been de-nazified by cutting off the swastika.

    Cheers, Ade.

        Hello Henrik ,

Adrian is right , this is a WW2 badge with the swastika cut off , if it was a 1957 the wreath would go all the way around with no eagle . Like this :

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

                  Dear Grant,

Out of interest, does that hinge sit on an oval plate?
                  Cheers, Frank

                      Dear Grant,

Do these very typical hinges and catches on 57 badges represent a certain maker? Assmann? Steinhauer & Lück?
                      Cheers, Frank

                        Hello Frank ,

no joy yet on a maker for these as i,m still trying to track down a marked one with this pin set up to be definate . It is a destinctive hinge , pin and hook . I have the infantry assault , panzer assault , army flak and retired pilots badge with the same set up . I have my suspicions it is Assman but i want definate proof .

                        regards

                        Grant
