    General Assault Badge for Review

    Found this little beauty locally. Marked JFS for Josef Feix & Sohne. Badge appears to be die forged, and I am impressed with the overall quality and detail. Very fine piece.

    Good? Bad? Approximate value? Opinions welcome!

    JFS didn't make grade 1 GAB's, this is a fantasy badge based on the '4 Rivet Design' by an unknown maker.

      Ned is correct, this one is not original. I hope you can return it.

        One more for the learning...
        It is a shame that dealers that specialize in German collectibles sell these reproductions, in a collector's show, as originals.
        One more lesson for the beginner (Me).

          If you have their business card, feel free to post the information on this site. Who knows, maybe at a future show, someone looks up the name on their phone and this pops up.

            Sadly, I do not. I will, from now on, follow your suggestion when attending a show.

                  I appreciate all the opinions and the feedback about the badge. I did not loose too much on the badge, and since it was a show, I have no idea who the guy is. I have seen him on the same spot in the past, so in January, when the next show will be taking place, I will make sure to stop by, ask for a business card, look around for more fake stuff on his table and then calmly inform him that "the badge you sold me as an original was a fake" and of my intentions of making the local and international collectors forums/societies aware of him and his dishonest business.

                  By that point I will not be able to get my money back, but at least other beginner collectors can avoid the culprit saving themselves a headache.

                  Regards;

                  Heri
