New iab - unsure if real

Hi all,

picked up a new IAB, thankfully for not alot of money. looked good at first matched up with the unmarked on in the IAB book on page 200, then noticed a crack on the side, didnt look good from there on - what do you think?

Unfortunately this one is a fake of the deformed leaf IAB. Hope you can return.

The one you show is a cast fake. The deformed leaf is also attributed to Deumer by some.

I can only agree, a fake based on the later-war solid-backed Deumer.

Hi Guys

My additional 2¢ on this fake...

I have found this one showing up from time to time and a couple of times found it in groups of original material.

Some differences I have notice is the talon detail and the head sculpt does not match.

Here is a planchet I have saved in my DB.

Also, the very pronounced triangular shape of the eagle's chest on the fake is a mark for me.
