Please, can anyone tell me something about this cloth insignia badge ? What is it ? and if original ? Only thing I can say, it was found amongst pieces from a former grenadier

Can't say I have ever seen anything like this, but to me it reminds me of a wreath and cockade for a hat ....or maybe for a sleeve rating for on a tunic. Being green on the leaves could be significant relating to mountain or forestry or whatever green is related to...but whatever it is, it is well executed, has age, and looks original to me .
It's items like this that gets the heart beating when you find such a thing. Instead of having the national colors for,the center they used the swastika on red and white...just a different take on the national colors and is Very Cool.

I too at first thought it might be from a wreath ribbon or uniform, but on reflection, I'm not so sure, a lot of ribbons had this style of emblem printed on them along with other things, but they all were printed - this piece is embroidered.
Today looking through Weitze's new update list - came upon a very similar piece listed, described as a early Reich's patriotic embroidery patch possibly for a cushion. Here's the link, what do you think ?
