    Infantry Assualt Badge

    Hello All,

    here is my recently purchased IAB marked WH. It looks good to me from my research with manufacturing marks on the rear and quality of the the front face. though always nice to get a second opinion from others - what do you think?

    Hi Alex,

    Firstly welcome to the WAF forum, best one on the net if you are interested in Third Reich combat and qualifications badges.

    Your IAB looks to be a well worn original, made by Wilhelm Hobacher. The heavy filing on the reverse is very typical of this maker.

      Hi Alex

      I agree with Tom's assessment of your Hobacher IAB with sheet metal hinge set up.

      This maker also produced a solid zinc flat back - WH marked IAB with an almost exacting obverse pattern using a block hinge.

        I have a few dozenother badges that I will get up at some point as i have been collecting for about 2 years now.
