PAB Assmann gold?

what do you think about this piece?
It was offered to me for 140EUR. It seems like a gold finish on the front what makes me wonder

any opnions welcome

sorry, just checked and its Adolph Scholze...not Assmann maker mark

Hi Andreas,

For sure an original Adolf Scholze in Bronze. Its ground dug and we see the bronze finish turn to gold color quite a bit on CCCs from Gablonz makers. So it must have been something in the bronze finish these firms used that turns gold when exposed to wet conditions.

Andreas,
It is a commonly encountered badge that is usualy found in very good condition. The finish by this maker held up quite well over time. I would wait for a better example.

Heavily cleaned Bronze AS PAB. Wait for another one, shouldn´t be difficult to find.

I agree, for that price, wait for a better one to pop up. But it is original so that's no problem there.
