        Hi Simone,

I tend to think this one is a reproduction. At first glance it appears to be a Rettenmaier (flatback), however the details are weaker and the obverse design is different. Reverse hardware is also a red flag, its similar to wartime hardware but not quite right (its cruder IMO).

In addition, this obverse design is a match to other postwar fakes we know about, particularly the Souval and Souval-like fakes. That is the final nail in the coffin for me.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I am with Tom and Chet. This Heeresflak is bogus.

Better pictures are always of help.

In this case to be honest looking at the bigger pictures I like the details of the obverse and the only thing that let me a little bit suspicious is the catch, a little more "fat" round wire.

                        Hi guys,

I too like the badge alot better with these new pics, hard to believe its the same one. The hardware still looks a little funky to me, seems cruder than what we typically see, especially on Rettenmaiers, but the rest of the badge looks good with good detail and the typically hand finishing we see with this maker. I tend to think it is OK.

I see no problem with this Rettenmaier army flak. The only thing that is a bit off is the very small round catch plate. In 95% of the cases this is a rectangular one. Nice over patina on this piece
                          Kind regards,
                          Giel

I would also be interested to find out as well what has changed about this flak badge in just 3 years? Curious.
