Here are 3 GWL CCCs for comparison: Gold on the top, Silver in the middle, Bronze at the bottom.

It appears to me GWL used either type of pin randomly on its CCCs.

All 3 came to me at one time about 20 years ago, reportedly from the estate of a WWII U.S. Army Lt Col. In the estate grouping were a number of Luft GWL badges as well.

All aluminium clasp I have seen has a different pin, look here the one I own.

That doesn't mean that yours is not good, just a point, maybe Tom can put some light on this matter.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

        Hi Russell,

Can you show good straight-on pics of the CCC in question?

I believe I have handled this exact one at the MAX show a few years ago and felt it was a cast fake. It was made from light weight aluminum and had a fluted pin like yours does. The obverse was nicely done, but the reverse clearly showed it was a casting.

As Angel rightly says, all original aluminum GWL clasps have the straight, thin pin. It wasn't until later that GWL used the fluted and wide-bellied pins on their zinc clasps IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

As usual, I think Tom is right on with this one. Signs of casting on the reverse can be seen from your pictures.
