    Nickelsilver GWL cut-out GAB

    Hi guys,

I would like to show you my newest highlight of my small GAB collection.
A GWL cut-out GAB made of nickelsilver with polished highlights. It's a perfect addition to my hollow cut-out GWL IABs in my collection. Unfortunately I can't show you the beautiness of this GAB on pictures, because all the polished parts looks to be dark on the pictures. In my opinion one of the most awesome GABs out there.

I hope you like it as much as I do and opinions are welcome!!!

    BR
    Sven

It's my understanding that the vast majority of these GWL's are zinc, so this must be a heck of a find

The GWL GAB is my favorite GAB, also

          Sven,
I believe this to be a tombac example as opposed to nickle silver. None the less, a stunning example than anyone would love to have in their collection.

I agree, a lovely example. I would rather say an it is an unworn zinc GAB.

              Hi guys,

if you have this example in your hand you can't see any orange colour on the worn areas. Furthermore the colour of the base material under the white siver finish is silver and there are no signs of zinc!

100% nickel silver and there is very few examples. My full nickel silver GWL para have the exact same hardware.

Several zinc badges of that particular maker show this kind of hardware, so it is hardly possible to call this "100% nickel silver", just because the hardware fits this pattern.

Daniel is correct. One cannot determine base metal by the type of hardware utilized. In most instances yes, but it is not 100% correct to make a blanket statment to that effect.

Top condition and extremely rare; this one will look spectacular with your exceptional attributed GWL buntmetal IAB's.

That's one heck of a nice GAB. No matter what it's made from. It reminds me of one posted a while back by forum member Bob Hritz.
