Indeed, a great looking badge. Obverse has been cleaned IMO, but other than that a beauty.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

          Hi Tom,

it looks shiny as the frosting reflects on the flash.
          My excuses for that.
This afternoon i made some (poor) daylight pictures.
This gives another perspective of the badge.
I don't see any signs of cleaning.

I donĀ“t see any hint that this piece has been cleaned. The polished highlights would be dull if any chemical detergent was used. Imo a stone cold mint and untouched badge.

            Regards,

            Daniel

I agree, extremely nice one. Judging by the patina under the granade I wouldn't say this one was cleaned.
              Kind regards,

                  Hi guys,

There is just such a distinct difference in the appearance of the obverse compared to the reverse. The reverse is not cleaned and that is what its natural patina looks like, yet there is absolutely no sign of any patina on the obverse. That is just not natural IMO.

Here are a few good examples of Schickle's in their natural, uncleaned state.
