material change ?

I am searching after the date arround wich the switch in material did come though => from for example Buntmetal towards Zink, etc ...

Is there anyone who knows a definate answer towards this question, and iff yes => what source do you use for this?

A very interesting question to which I would love to find the answer myself but as far as I'm concerned I have never found any information that could learn us something.

Probably the only way to start answering this question would be based upon studying awards that come directly from vet's and are accompanied by documents but even that would be difficult taken in to account that you could never be sure that the awards accompanying the doc. was in fact the actual awarded and not a privatly bought piece.
