    Bronze Schickle/Mayer PAB

If my luck continues I think I'm on a roll...

Just received this nice Bronze tombac hollow stamped PAB. IMO another Schickle/Mayer design and based on the kind feedback I received on the early silver IAB I posted 2 days ago my guess would be its a Mayer product because of the flat sheet metal catch but, in visiting old threads showing this type, I noticed that many round catch specimens were deemed to be Mayer products as those with sheet metal catches so now I'm really confused (nothing new..)

Old posts also mention a profusion of repros for many types of PABs (Toucan fake, 2 dot fake etc) so the most important thing for me is to make sure its an original (whoever the maker may be!)

    Thanks again for your help

      Hi JC,

No worries here, it's a good Schickle PAB in bronze. These were later distributed by Mayer after Schickle lost their licence in mid 1941, and on rare occasions can be found stamped L/18 on the pin.

A nice pick up, the roll continues....

      Regards, Ned.

        JC,
It bit on the worn side, but a good eample as Ned said.

        Zinc stinks!

You're so hard to please...at least its not zinc.

          Nice PAB...

                Thanks Ron

Great silver PAB and miniature ! It does make a nice match indeed: I hope I find one in as good a shape one day! I'm new at these and its getting late so it could be my eyes but doesnt the rock formation(?) in front of the tank look a bit different on the 2 badges?

                Best regards

                JC

                  JC:

No, it's the lighting & the 'shine' on the badge.

Let me know if you want to "Partner-up" your
badge. I'm actually out of GENERAL awards
& am collecting 'Ostmedailles' & 'KvK II with
Swords' with their award documents & am
slowly getting rid of all my other pieces so I'm
                  open for offers.

                  Ron.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                      Hi Ned

These are the Petz & Lorenz types that occasionally can be marked with L/18, not these normal tombak Schickles.

                      Nice PAB JC!!
                      Kind regards,
                      Giel
