So we can only assume they will be on your next update? Why even have a website if you are going to flog your wares on the forum everytime something new comes in?

      Hi Chet......

......As a forum sponsor the rules against free advertising don't really matter in this case. Sad, but true.

        Well Chet us again…..
First I like to know I f I did something to you or harm you in any way ? I don’t understand that you always write negative when I post war badges. Or is there another dealer who told you to make us look bad ?
If so, please let me know so we can find a way out of this.
Second I like to say that we stopped posting every day “anything” just to get attention. We only bring something up here if we are not 100% sure about the originality or if we don’t know the maker of the badge / badges. There is no "new stuff" , "look here" anymore. If you take the time checking or posting history, you will see that.
The three IAB here will not be in our next update, as I wrote earlier, we don’t do it that way. All the discussion we had about “emeredato” and “posting badges” hopefully made that clear.
Finally I pay my membership and a lot of money for advertising on WAF, so if the forum leadership tells me not to show badges anymore, I will do it as told.
At the end I like to ask the makers of the IAB in the middle and on the right side. That’s the reason why I posted this.
So Chet I hope to get an answer from you about the situation and maybe some help from other collectors about the maker.
        Thanks
        Regards
        Sascha

          Hello Sascha,
Imho the second badge is a Ernst Muller and the third one looks like a Wernstein with a variant setup.

          Nice badges you've got there.
          Cheers,
          Stefano

            Hi guys,

I do not have any problem with a dealer/collector showing badges and asking for opinion, in fact there is a lot of people who first ask for opinions and a few hours later the badge is posted up for sale on the Estand.

IMO, and like collector, the more badges posted on the forum the better because we all enjoy looking at them .

BTW the 3 IABS are original and nice, the first one is a Wiedmann, the second one a Müller design and the last one a so called “real Wernstein”.

            Best regards.

              Well Chet......

......We're fighting a losing battle here. There are always going to be guys that support this behavior because they are too lazy to go to his website and check for themselves. If they know, in advance, about certain badges becoming available, then they don't have to go through the, oh-so-tedious, routine of having to click on a particular website banner and look for themselves. He knows this, that's why he chooses to 'flog' his wares in advance here. They might not be on the very next update, but they will eventually appear for sale on his site IMHO.

Any way you shake it down...it's advertising. Granted it is irritating, but when sales are slow...that's what they do. I don't care for the practice either.

                Hi Sascha,

I won't worry too much, you have a great reputation as a dealer and as far as I am concerned, you offer excellent badges for good prices. I enjoy seeing your badges because you often find nice things and as Jordi says, give us good reason to discuss a particular badge if it isn't common. I for one hope you keep posting

As far as these badges go, I would agree with the others:

                1. Wiedmann
                2. Ernst Mueller
                3. Wernstein

                Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Hi Sascha

They all look good imo. The "Muller" having the nicest finish

They are all fairly common. The "real wernstein" being the least common of the three imo. In fact I have owned many IABs but never added one of those to my collection

On a sales note, I would want to inspect or see better pics of the Wiedmann, due to the darkened areas around the hinge and catch, especially as the catch plate is positioned quite high. Probably not a repair but sometimes original set ups have broken off and been replaced.

On the subject of sellers "advertising" on this forum, my opinion, is that in this case, Sascha does not appear to be blatantly advertising, and I take the view it is nice to see badges posted and discussed. The real upside of a dealer posting here is that their site and items can also be scrutinised. Not all dealers ask for opinions on WAF. With a connection to WAF it is unlikely that Sascha will sell bad items.

In the Heer forum, I do like free speech and believe in all being able to cast a sensible viewpoint. As long as it does not drag on and end in arguments, I have no issue. Chet and Bruce have had their say and Sascha has replied in a sensible way. So let's enjoy the badges.

                  regards
                  Graeme

                      Graeme,
I am all for free speech here. Its just a pitty that this dealer cannot do the least bit of research on his own for common items such as these IAB's. He opened the thread by saying "some IAB cross my way" Since he did not ask for opinions on them one can only assume he is advertising via a thread.

                      Chet

                        Hi Chet,
"this dealer" is not a full time dealer. In real life I am in the german navy as an Officer who goes on cruises with real boats and ships or I go on land missions in Libanon and Syria. I dont have always the time for research like other dealers.....
And yes, you are right, next time I will write it like a question.....
                        Regards
