    Wurster tombak GAB?

    Hi Guys

This heavy worn, possibly dug badge came in and it appears to be a rare solid tombak Wurster, however I have never seen one unmarked before and this one has no raised W as one would expect.

Also I think the pin is probably replaced?

    Opinions appreciated

    Many thanks

    Patrick

      Hi Patrick,

examples where the "w" is not or not that much visible are known.
On my example the "w" is not that much visible as well.
Could it be that here is the "w" maker mark on your example?

        Hi Patrick,

Nice worn example. If this doesn't have a "W" then its really the first one I have ever encountered unmarked. I would look close at Sven's circled area, the mark is usually never that high but I guess its possible as the marks to seem to vary slightly in position between examples.

I agree that the pin is replaced, that was the first thing I noticed.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks guys- I have really looked closely and there is nothing there at all. If you check out the photo of the hinge you will see no mm visible. Unusual badge for sure..
