    PAB in Silver - Replaced Catch

    Hi guys, do you think the catch is period repaired or post war?
    Any ideas on the maker of this one?

          These were always said to be B.H Mayer. But there are different theories on this now I believe. Difficult to say when the repair was made. Stewy

              Id say its a an unmarked Frank and Reif.

              Hollowbacks are Mayer.This isnt a hollowback.

              Catch is replaced for sure.When....who knows??

                Hi Chris,

                It's an unmarked Frank & Reif type 4.2.3. Note the flaw on the top left oak leaf between it and the badges rim. This is ALWAYS found on these late F&R PAB's.

                    Hi Chris

                    I agree that your badge is classed as an unmarked F&R, it has a similar design to the maker marked F&R badges.

                    Sometimes it is difficult to determine when a repair was done. Your repair has an aged look to it, but impossible to say when imo.

                    Here is an unmarked badge from my collection to show you how the catch would probably have looked when it was first made.
