    Please see below from my original posting...The top compare pic is indeed Allan's badge (badge in question) on the left and one of mine on the right.

    The second or lower set of pics are indeed of Allan's badge. These two pics are from the Hero's site when it was listed their. Hopefully, this is more understandable.

      Couldn't t just be a faulty/ugly crimp on the badge? It sure looks similar just more sloppy.. which seems it could be possible.

        You could be correct Brian and the differences in the hinge skirt attachment is nothing more than random variation during the production process.

        I think close-ups of the catch area might gives us more clues about this one.
