    Hi guys,

I am quite certain that this badge is an ".A.S" example, but the dot before the A is just very weak. Here is one of my examples with a similarly weak-formed dot before the A.

So for me this is not a new variant. It is also made from zinc IMO, you can see some bubbling on the swastika as well as some areas of the reverse. Still quite an uncommon badge to find though, and a very nice example.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Dale, another reason I don't believe this is a rare A.S. variant, is because it lacks the "Z" and the "M" in the reverse grass area, which is an integral part of the reverse die of the A.S. PABs.

        Tom,
Thank you very much for clearing this up. I can't get to my reference books anytime soon and wasn't aware of the Z and M marks, so now I've learned something new.
