Would have to agree with your observation. In traveling through most of the German shows and some of the US shows, I rarely see any minty Silver CCCs. In fact, I have seen many more mint German Crosses, Knight's Crosses, Oak Leaves, "Swords" than I have truly minty silver CCCs. Also, given the number of close combat days required to earn this award, greatly undervalued.
Obviously the lack of minty examples is primarily based on the poor quality of the finish applied and the base metal.
With less than 700 Gold CCCs awarded and less than 300 "presentation" clasps produced, it baffles me why a SA High Leader Dagger is more expensive?
