    about SHuCo IAB

Lately, I read a lot of old discussion about SHuCo IAB, and I find out there are something different from these IABs.

How many leaf arteries whould be in the right top leaf?
(I found some SHuCo IABs have 4, but some have 5)
What are the characters of SHuCo IAB?

I think they might be.... there is a net on the front sight of K98 and net on the rolls in the bottom.

    What do you think guys?

    me too!

HI, My ShuCo has 4-arteries in the top right leaf, not counting the middle one. I think i see the "net" you are talking about. Looks strange, and differnt than my other unmarked IAB.

    cheers,

    nate

ya....I think the net one is the real orginial one. Someone told me that's difficult for faker to cast that one, but now I'm not sure. Moreover, the arteries look like very smooth connect on the main artery. These characters are not always shown on SHuCo's IAB which lacks of "net" or either way....lacks of the smooth feeling arteries.

I'm not expert, so the artery number still confuses me. Can any expert explain explain what's wrong with the SHuCo IAB? thanks a lot

          Hi gentlemen!

Most interesting question! I don´t own a ShuCo yet so i can´t speak out in the matter, but in a few days i hopefully will have one in my collection.

It would be interesting to see what Frank and Philippe (and others as well) has to say about the leafartery.

            Hi Indy,

I have to admit that I never noticed that difference in the Shuco IAB but it's there indeed. Personally my best guess would be that more than one die was used for these badges and taken in to account the sheer number of them arround that wouldn't surprise me at all. Nothing to worry about IMO.

I would also not worry about that, different die or die repair/refinement might be reasons. maybe even another maker using SHuCo´s design (in the case of unmarked ones), but certainly no reason to be afraid your example is not original.
              Cheers, Frank

                  Thanks Frank

I bought this IAB from Mike Pinkus months ago. I love this one very much and I appreciate that he sold me this one. I just wonder some SHuCo marked IAB have 5 arteries, but some have 4 as mine and the examples in Yuri and Lorenzo's page.

Just go my SchuCo and it´s a 5 leafartery variant. It looks black on the reverse but i think it once was a bronze, a real "black beauty" now!

                        Hi Hans,

Is it a lightweight? Could it be made of Cupal?
                        Cheers, Frank

                          Hi Frank,

i haven´t weight it yet but it´s a zinker. It´s worn down on the obverse and the blackish colour is on the reverse.

                              Hi Hans N

Is there a net on the front sight of the K98 in your SHuCo IAB? Moreover, I think there should be a "mustache" on eagle beak...I think you can find it clearly in my first picture and you can find the "net" on front sight in first picture, too.
As I remember, they are special characters of SHuCo IAB.
