    Screw Back GAB...maker please!

Picked up this screwback / clamshell GAB today along with a nickle silver SS buckle. The eagle looks familiar but I can't recall the maker. Anybody know?

The face of the badge shows only traces of it's silver wash but the reverse & fairly intact. I really like the top pin that keeps it from rotating.

    Thanks for the help.

Blurry photo but looks like either the smirking GAB or half-moon GAB design

I'll go with half-moon design, which is unattributed as you know

Did a search for smirking eagle and learned it was made by A. Rettenmaier (or considered so)

You can correct me if incorrect but I believe it's a Rettenmaier due to the stem length at the 6 o'clock and the curvature & shape of the wings (shoulder area) which are quite differently shaped from a half-moon type.

              Thanks!

              Chuck

                Hi Chuck

I like it a lot. It's a Rettenmaier piece indeed.
                Kind regards,

                  Hi Chuck,

I can only agree with the others, a nice original Rettenmaier.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

And rare as hell with that screw-back.

Same maker (Rettenmaier), same screwback and anti-rotation device!

And with a bit of good will you can read the initials in the stamp
                      Kind regards,
