If you don't want people looking at your website without your permission I would suggest putting password protection on it.

I also noticed, that your domain name (www.germanmilitaria.netfirms.com) and the name of your site (The Collectors Guild) is very close to that of a respected dealer.

Hi Panther44. I don't see a problem with this thread. Nobody is publishing your pictures, although I don't think that is an issue. We are discussing a public site to which you referenced and the items appearing on it that are for sale to the general, worldwide public.

The purpose of this Forum is to discuss the authenticity of items that we encounter, including those on dealer sites, Ebay and sites such as yours.

Rather than threaten or intimidate us....why not defend or discuss the items you are selling? As a member you are certainly encouraged to join the discussions.

        Welcome aboard!!

He threatened me with legal action for viewing his site in PM. Panther, is it illegal to view your site. I did not even see §86 saying you are selling these "items" ,and I use the term loosely, for historical or educational purposes. Panther if you look closely I did not start the thread so how in anyway am I infringing on your rather lame site? In the long run the only copyright infringement commited here is on the original firms that produced these badges lol.

If you create a website that is available to the public, and if you use that public website to offer things for sale to the public, then you cannot complain when the public:

            1. Looks at the website that you are inviting them to visit;
            2. Looks at the things that you are offering for sale on your website; and
            3. Comment on the things that you are offering for sale.

You are free to address their comments, to say why you think that the comments are wrong, or why you are right.

I can go to the website for BMW automobiles.

I can then post a link to that website here, and I can say "I think that the BMW automobiles that you will see on this website are very poor products".

Anyone who reads my comments can ask me questions, or visit the website to judge for themselves. BMW, or anyone else, can come here and comment and say that I am wrong.

If you do not want the public to offer opinions about the things that you sell, than do not sell in public. If you set up a table at a militaria show, people are free to walk up to your table, look at the things that you are selling, and offer their opinions about them.

            That is how it works.

I wonder how Peter Whamond would like the infringement on HIS name! he would probably have a legal leg to stand on.

His name is G Knauseder and his email address is: gknauseder@yahoo.de

Every now and then, he comes up with something original, but not very often.

Drop him a line and let him know what crap he is selling!

He is German, but lives in England. Tarnishes our good nationality...
