    Hi Bill

The bronze rivets are the earlier pieces. These rivets normally don't go through the tank unlike the aluminum ones.
    Kind regards,

Yep, I would agree with Giel here. Tombak rivets on this type of badge should also be no surprise since its made by Juncker and they had a preference for tombak rivets.

Nice and rare, agree... but more than 20k???
That's insane for a zinc badge, for that amount i would buy other
things like CCC gold tombak, higher grades RK, rare groupings...
But that's just a personal opinion ofcourse. Luckily we have all different
taste or we would hunt all the same pieces
Are these prototypes or real award pieces? Did anyone ever encounter an award
document of these? Or evidence in wear?

I'm sorry to say but Jeff's badge just posted is a fake. Tom, you might want to take a second look.

It is very unfortunate for Jeff, and I feel bad saying it is a fake. This is quite a common fake and is seen in many collections worldwide. Just noticed Jeff just posted a coa, hopefully he does not own this piece.

Not made by the same maker indeed, lots of small differences in front and back of the two badges.

28k....if only I had hit powerball. I am curious though, were any of these awarded? any known photos showing them being worn?
