    SHuCo IAB identification

    Hello Everyone,

    I need you help regarding a Shuco IAB.
    Usually, the markings are under the hinge but for this one, the marking is on the top.
    Could it be a variant or simply a fake?

    The reverse appears to have SHuCo '41 shrinkage marks. I think it's ok, but better pics would help. Stewy

      An original SHuCo IAB for me, but too bad about the missing catch and I believe the pin is a replacement.

        I also would say this one is an original ShuCo (5) vein variant and with the remnants of the brownish colored wash, shows it is a bronze grade.

        The "ShuCo 41" maker mark location above the hinge on this example should not cause concern about originality.
        The positioning of the maker mark on these examples for some reason does not replicate exactly on every IAB.

        It is unfortunate the catch is missing albeit I would say the distorted shepherds hook pin is probably original to the badge.

        This ShuCo variation is pretty common comparably speaking, with minty examples easily found.

          This badge is not my property but i was curious about the markings on the top.
          I now have an asnwer and you are right Fischer, ShuCo IAB are common and are easy to find in excellent condition.
