    Hello,

It appears to be an original General Assault Badge, made by Karl Wurster in Markneukirchen.

    Best regards,
    Tom

            Hi guys,

I hate to say, but I actually think this is a Staegemeir fake. I have been digging through my files and searches on the forum to compare, but can't seem to locate the thread I am thinking of.

The reverse has a lot of traits that I remember from the Staegemeir fake.

Does anyone have a Staegemeir fake GAB Wurster in their archives? I will continue to search in the mean time.

I tend to agree with Chad on this one

Well spotted Chad, no doubt a Staegemeir fake.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Damn, missed the guidelines on the hinge which is one of the indicators.

Well, I think I made a mistake. the guidelines seems to be also on originals but placed shorter to the hinge and mostly covered by the solder.

My fault! I still miss a Wurster in my own collection to verify

I don't like this badge. I can't say its definitely a copy, but I wouldn't have it in my collection. Although it looks very much like a Wurster original, the finish seems wrong. What are the dimensions and the weight?
