    Heer Para in cloth

    Hi guys,

I already did a search on the forum regarding this one, a Heer Para in cloth. The piece is uv-negativ, the cloth burns without remnants (ok, a little ash dust remains). Any ideas?

    Regards,

    Daniel

It's interesting at first glance, but the material troubles me Dan. For something that's supposed to be "early", why not German "badge cloth"?? Textile here looks "later".

      Hi Daniel

Not even close to the textbook cloth type. Construction and material both look believable but the sloppy design would turn me off straight away.
      Kind regards,
      Giel

certainly doesn't have the quality of a period example

            Hi Giel,

the stiching and the design is imo very nicely done and very far away from being sloppy. It is also nicely padded.

Here is an example from W&H collection.

            Regards,

Daniel, I certainly like the second one you posted, but not the one that is the subject of this thread. They are not identical at all, and the details of the eagle and wreath (obverse and reverse) are rather different. Base wool is different at well.

Thanks guys, your help is much appreciated as always. I thought there must have been more patterns around, this seems not to be case with that "badge" then.

                Thanks!

                Regards,
