At first glance they look normal except the ring on the left one is marked...and seems too large for the usual rings (usually they are never marked right ring looks more normal except bent some.......then looking at details closer I notice the oak leaves on some areas are missing the ribbing...(just look at each for ribs and see for yourself).why this is...escapes me...I can't (as a result) decide what to think about them...so maybe it isn't an issue, but makes me scratch my skull with wondering about it as they seem authentic . Did you notice these points too? I do see some are rather faint, and some are totally missing so was it a bad stamping or ?? other than that they look good to me...sorry bout the flip flopping...Last edited by juoneen; 06-30-2014, 02:11 PM.

Both are textbook examples of original (unmarked) Type I SS-DA 4.
As for the 'missing' ribbing to the oakleaves; photography can be quite deceptive in regard to this eg. in the photograph below of my similar award, it looks as if the ribbing is either very faintly struck or completely missing from the bottom halves of the One O'Clock & Seven O'Clock leaves, whereas I can assure you that when viewed with the naked eye they are totally present and correct.Attached Files
