Fake Franke & Co IAB

Hello,
I bought a fake iab recently on e-stand to see what it look like. It's a Franke & Co and it intrigues me cause it looks close to the original.






I don't understand why someone has put much effort to fool collectors just for an iab.

If someone has an explanation I'm interested.

I wouldnt say close to original, there are many differences.

IMO the fakers make lots of IABs and GABs because many new collectors are going to buy them first because the price isnt very high. Not lot of people are easy to fool with medals like numbered GABs and PABs, also they check it before buying.

Indeed a good fake you have there, that has and will continue to fool collectors that don't do their homework. You have a good attitude toward the hobby, spending some money to study good fakes is a great way to compare the differences and will certainly help you identify and therefore avoid similarly well made fakes in the future.

So even affordable badges are copied to fool collectors. It's sad
I agree that is a good way to learn about fake and not to be fool in the future. It can can be really usefull to have some fake for studies.

About this fake I can add that it looks like more zamac as zinc.

Once a faker gets the hang of it, they are pretty cheap to make, so for IABs there is a nice profit in it.

If you take more close up clear pics, feel free to reply to the following thread containing fakes. Your pics will be beneficial to others.
