PAB in Silber RS with wide pin

    Hi guys,

Here is a Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber. I won't teach you anything by saying that it's from Robert Souval with the "EKI Style" wide pin but I would like your opinion about its authenticity !

Thanks a lot again for your help!

    Best,

    Max

Thanks for your answer guys. I've been looking at a lot of RS PAB on WAF before taking a decision on this one.

If I narrow the research to the badge with the "R.S." written using the "think font" like on mine, I noticed one thing
        - Most of the badges have the two "." clearly embossed (I mean that the second point is as "in 3D" as the rest of the manufacturer mark)
        - Some have the second point barely visible, and clearly less embossed (you can clearly see it on the pictures of mine). For some reasons, it seems to be the case for the 2 other RS PAB with wide pin I found on WAF (see link below)

I guess that I'm not the first one to ask the question about it. I would be very curious to have your opinion about it... Could it be that they used a different die for this serie ?

        Thanks

        Max

          Another Silver R.S. PAB.

The seller of this specific badge obtained it about 5 years ago, painted black. He carefully removed the black paint to turn an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.

            Thanks for sharing it Tim!

It looks like this one also has a second point less embossed than the rest of the R.S. marking...

              Hello Max,

From my experience, I agree with what you have observed that the broadpin R.S. PABs seem to have the second "." much less distinct, or at least smaller.

Some more including a silver one of mine are shown here http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ighlight=broad It's hard to tell on the scans of my silver one, but the second "." is smaller. However, the one Graeme showed in that thread seemed to have both periods the same.

On the thick letter but normal pin R.S. I have had, the periods seem to be the same.

I think your broadpin one is great!

              Best,
              Greg

                Thanks for sharing this Greg!

Since we seem to find this "less embossed" dot on a decend number of RS PAB identified as original, they might have had a default on their die at some point...
