    Nahkampfspange Bronze Junker

    Hi all
I managed to get this in the last Butschek auction. It came from a group belonging to an unknown DK and silver CCC trager. Found in a house in Postmünster which is a small place so I am hopeful of finding the name, if anyone else on here bought some of the grouping please let me know if you have any luck with finding out any info,. Wish I had bid on the silver CCC it was a real beauty but I was after a bronze Junker this time.

    Best Regards
    Jon

Yours looks to be a nice earlier "worn" example, with perhaps, just a copper plating remaining? I say this because of the very coppery hue on the front and backside. I would have a expected a more "goldish" hue if a bronze Brennlac finish remained, but, I've seen various shades of bronze on Juncker's clasps too. There is a "type-A" clasp on "Espenlaub" that has been sold, so if you want to compare, you may want to go there. I've only seen one type-A clasp (bronze grade) come onto the market.

P.S.: Maybe it's just you're camera, but your 1st picture may be a more accurate depiction of the overall color??

      --Best,

Here's a "later" worn example from my collection for comparison. The pin, like the backplate, are unmagnetic. I think the pin on the one I owned previously was magnetic, and definitely had a more "goldish' hue to the brennlac. This example has a lower quality Brennlac, hence, "later" issue.

..some "tighter" shots. The "raised" area around the catch leads me to believe this example to be a little "later" too.

Nice original clasp, love that lighter bronze tone to it!
                    Kind regards,
