CCC AGMuK Gold OK or not ?

    Hello to all,

I wish to obtain the opinion of the specialists in decorations. My research domain being documents, I have not the necessary competence to identify this decoration presented to a friend collector. Is it about a decoration of time or about a beautiful copy ? Thank you for your help and cordial greetings.

    Hi,
IMHO it is a good agmuk clasp, I have exactly the same bought here on the estand but mine is a bronze grade.
Particularity of these are high S in peekhaus, dot after gablonz, Small magnetic backplate, etc.
Unfortunately I don't have Tom Durante's book to be more accurate.
So to resume, IMO good clasp but I am sceptical that it is a real gold grade.

    Best regards

    Benjamin

Based on those images, it looks to be an original WW2 clasp that has been re-gilded post war with no finish left on the back plate behind the eagle.

On the other hand, it might just be an original that has been heavily cleaned in some sort of dip solution hence why all the finish on the back plate is gone.

Personally, I have never seen a gold one by that maker that I thought was a pre-May 1945 finish but wait and see what Tom says,

It looks like a original clasp but I am not sure about the finish

          Hi guys,

No doubts that this is an original AGMuK clasp, but I also don't like the gold finish as the others have said. Backplate finish is in poor condition compared to the gold finish and also note the blob of gold finish inside the crimp; that alone proves the gold finish was applied after the clasp left the factory.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
