    Hi, please have a look at my new batch of badges, hope they're all good...

    #1: GAB 1.03.1 Gustav Brehmer
    #2: GAB 1.28.1 unknown maker #11 'Flatback' / 'Smirker'
    #3: IAB 1.10.1 Eugen Schmidthäußler / RK
    #4: IAB 1.14.2 Fritz Zimmermann
    #5: IAB 1.21.1 Hermann Wernstein
    #6: IAB 1.33.3 Steinhauer & Lück

    badge #3: is this IAB attributed to RK or Eugen Schmidthäußler? Sascha Weber's 2014 edition of the IAB book lists it as a Schmidthäußler badge, but most of the time it is referred to as a possible RK variant.
    badge #4: is this a known/common hinge variant on this FZS IAB?

                I don't know what the previous owners did to them, but I don't chemically clean my badges, I use water and soap and only if there's dirt on them like remains of stickers or dust. Except for #3 they all came like this. They look less clean in hand though, so I guess lighting and camera helps a bit here.

                      All original with a heck of a lot of finish, regardless of cleaning (if so)

                        Looking good mate.

                        Just because they have a lot of finish and are in good condition doesn't necessarily mean that they have been chemically cleaned mate.

                        I have some IAB's that are in just as fine condition and haven't been cleaned at all.

                        There are many factors that affect the finish

                          Hate to say it, but not spec of "white" on the half moon or the RK? Not so much as an inkling of patina on any of them, with the age bubbling and all? All different makers, coming from the same source too. Would have been better, but IMO cleaned.

                            Not from the same source. And as I said, they don't look as clean in hand, but sunlight, camera angle and settings make them appear very clean. I tried to get more realistic pictures, but they still look cleaner than they are. Anyway, I did not clean them chemically and I don't know what the previous owners did.

                              I let the pics of a pair of "uncleaned" examples do the talking. Notice the RK example has more wear, but still retains the "white" top layer, as well as the halfmoon GAB. Not wasting any more of my time.
