    Cut the wing!

    Hi guys

It doesn't always has to be a higher numbered award or a super-duper early luftwaffe award that makes a show good for me. Last week it didn't took me long to stumble over this early Meybauer IAB. Completely frosted an almost unworn it for sure makes it one of my better IAB's in my collection!

    Hope you like it!

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                    Wow, nice badge!

Very reminiscent of the Meybauer L/13-marked U-Boat badges which use the same setup in both Tombak and zinc. The Tombak ones (left) also show a lot of hand cutouts around the margins, the swastika and under the sub while the later zinc variation used a standard trimming stamp for uniformity.

                    Best regards,
                    ---Norm

                          Hi Giel,

Looks like the needle is replaced and the hook is resoldered...but other than that an ok looking badge.

very rare badge in very nice condition.
it is a version or it is the stamping problem as one wing stamped off and the other not stampled off?
