            Is this a variant different from the tombak example shown in Frank's book? The eagle head design looks a bit different and especially the hinge itself.

            My gut reaction was not good, but maybe I haven't seen this before.

                Hi guys,

                My first impression of this one is the same as Blued, it looks nice but something about it is questionable. I think the soft details are what is making me think this one is a reproduction. I don't think it is an S&L, the eagle's face looks different and some of the leaf veining is different as well. Reverse hardware isn't too bad, but is questionable too IMO.

                Erwin, can you provide some angled shots of the hinge and catch with the pin out of the way?
