Well I am going to go out on a limb here as no one else has commented, looks East German, definitely post ww2 by the reverse design and the pin, or it could just be fantasy piece.

Actually, this is a real award (Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Kolonialkriegerbundes) of the Weimar area and is pictured in Detlev´s price guide on page 96, in Hüsken´s price guid on page 122. Unfortunately BOTH do not show reverse sides.

The obverse is right in design, the small dent on the lion´s back though could be the sign of a casting.

I own an authentic piece and the reverse is nothing like the one on the link. Perhaps that one is some sort of special commemorative piece for the family of a late member of the Bund?!? Pure speculation on my part.
