Panzer assault 25 by GB - Opinions?

    Hello Gentlemen.

I wonder if anybody can help me. I am trying to learn about this badge and have been all over the net comparing one with another.

Can anybody give me an opinion on this one? I like the details that I can see. I cannot tell if it has the tool marks in the upper part of the pins. No flawed track links. No cross-hatched acorns. I am stumped.

    Hi Ken,

sorry but this one is reproduction, the biggest give away here is the material, hardware is incorrect as well.

I am in total agreeance with Eddie. The base metal used, hardware, and rivets are the biggest giveaways. I find the base zinc metal on the Brehmers to be a a much darker color than the grey on this one.

          Indeed, a bad one.

Thank you for your responses. It seems this one is indeed a stinker. I am just having a hard time figuring out why. I did take note of a couple of differences in the hardware; the fact that the pin, hinge and catch are so shiny. The lack of silver colored solder around where they connect. But for the life of me, I can't see any differences in the actual strike of the badge with all it's details.

I have taken photos of 6 examples of GB 25s and 50s and set them side by side. To my eyes the details are much the same. There are differences in the hardware and the rivets (even the material composition) in several of them. I suppose that the subject badge is beyond the acceptable perameters of variation?

I was first drawn to exploring the subject badge because of it's obviously "minty" condition. It is offered for sale on a website and I thought I would check it out as much as possible before considering it. I do accept that it is a bad one. Just trying to figure out how you guys can tell so easily.

Can anybody point out other differences between the subject badge and the ones shown below? (which I assume to be real as they are offered by a well respected dealer) I hope I am not stepping too far out of acceptable boundry by using the photos but since I am a Badge nit-wit, I don't know how else to learn this lesson.

            Thanks for your patience.
