Here's the pictures to avoid the discussion become useless.
IMO it is an original wartime piece, but I have to say it is different from all the others I have handled and seen until today. Surely there were different manufacturers during the war, not only one, and the badge can have some little variations in design. But stitching and materials look period to me.
The embroidery inside the green edge/border looks good, but the actual green border embroidery bothers me and I have never seen one with the extra grey border outside the green border. J
Hi,
No idea if it's real or not but are they any period photos of this elusive badge?
Can't recall seeing pictures of the sniper badge in wear. I'm interested seeing those.
Can't say it's genuine or not as i don't have knowledge about the subject.
But it looks period.
As far as I know there are no pictures surfaced until today showing this badge in wear. If I'm mistaken, I have never seen one in all my life. But we have the Sniper badge registered in Soldbucher and consigned from vets, so we are 100% sure it was awarded during the TR.
This one is not "textbook" as we have pointed out before, but the way it is made and materials look period.
