    Iab fzs

    Hi guys.
badge is original but I have some doubts on the pin, it does not seem typical FZS.
Is for you pin original FZS?
    It is not magnetic.

    Thanks

        Hi Robin

I agree that something looks wrong with the pin. It looks like part of the tension hook is missing. It may have broken off? Can you post better clear pics of the pin near the hinge please. There should be a bend that touches the surface of the badge when the pin is closed.
On your example the pin looks to be quite long (protruding off the badge) and I am not sure this is common with FZS IABs.

        best regards
        Graeme

Scott it is too early after the New Year !!

The pin does look long and stubby (a bit like I usually do in the morning ), but in the open position the pin does not look correct near the hinge end. imo

            cheers

One thing I never do is take the opposite opinion of my buddy Graeme

                Hi Guys

I agree with Graeme, the shepherds hook-shaped pin does look like the tensioner foot is missing.
I cannot tell if the pin has been stretched adding to the length, the tension foot cut off or the pin itself replaced.

The lighting at the hinge area is rather dark and better pics will allow for a better evaluation.

                Best Regards, fischer

                      Hi Robin,

I agree with the above comments, the pin is most likely a replacement. It is longer and wider than usual and, like Graeme noticed, with the tension hook missing.

Like Scott said there are several different FZS variants, here my small family of bronze examples

                      Best regards.

                        Hi guys,

I agree, pin looks like a replacement to me as well. Looks fatter than usual in addition to the other comments.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

now I'm sure that the pin is replaced.

Thanks for the additional pics Robin and I have the same conclusion as the others; a replacement pin.

                            Best Regards, fischer
