    My 2 IAB acquisitions

    Hi guys,

I have just purchased these 2 IABs, the first is marked R.S.S without a period after the last S and the other is unmarked. I have looked through several threads relating to the R.S.S IAB and there appear to be several different versions of maker mark which seems unusual. The R.S.S badge appears to have been a bronze one and the other silver. The previous owner of the unmarked one thought it might have been a B.H. Mayer badge but I can't locate any comparison pictures on the forum.

Although both are semi hollow in zinc with a slight vault there is quite a size difference between the 2, the R.S.S is about 63mm high by 49mm wide and the other only 60mm by 46mm. The R.S.S is also a deeper and heavier badge.

Does anybody have any idea re the maker of the unmarked IAB or any information in general about these badges and manufacturers which might confirm they are OK.

    First up is the R.S.S

    Regards

    Steve

Nice IABs! The second one reminds me of a SHuCo badge.

            Hello Steve

Great IABs! IMO both are original. I have an identical R.S.S badge and believe the maker to be "Richard, Simm and Sohne". And yes, my R.S.S is heavier and thicker than my other IABs. Congrats.

            Best Regards

            Mike

                Thanks guys,

No ideas about the maker of the 2nd badge? Is there a website like Mike Pinkus's PAB site that I could check for matches?

                Regards
                Steve

Steve, your second IAB is an unmarked Ernst L Müller IAB.

Hi and thanks once again guys, Philippe you must have remarkable collection and/or reference material to be able to match up badges with makers like that.

                      Regards

                      Steve
